I tried Reiki once. It was relaxing but that's about it.

I've had Rieki too and found it very relaxing. Sometimes that is all our body needs in order to fix iteself. Most people are stressed and rushed and don't see time out as important. In fact it is seen as a weakness by some! However I did have one session - a taster session at a fair - from a man who really did fix my back! I'd hurt it badly about 2 weeks before and while it was getting better I had a problem mid-back still. Honestly, about ten minutes afterwards any pain had completely gone! Unfortunately, he lived too far for me to see him further. I would love to have talked to him and maybe had some lessons with him. xx |

What about Reflexology? From one end to the other so to speak.

I've also had Reflexology and find it amazingly accurate and beneficial. In fact, as there are no Amatsu practitioners near me I have Reflexology about every fornight. While painful - the therapist is really good! - she can tell me which bits of my body hurt or are not working properly without me saying anything. It is, like Amatsu, a whole body treatment even though you only work the feet. And like Amatsu it is based on knoledge held for hundreds/thousands of years. Personally I find it fantastic for my menopausal symptoms! As she works on those areas it starts off really painful and gradually gets less. A couple of days later I realize that I haven't had a warm flush or that tired feeling for ages. xx |

Hello everyone,
I am new to this board but really interested in this subject so I thought I just jump in. I have tried received and gave Reiki. I find it amazing to see how it works on animals. On human beings it seems sometimes the most affective thing to do because you just are a channel to Universal Energies and the energies are flowing where they need to be. Reflexology ... yes for diagnosing things in the body its really good. However lately its not something for me anymore. It makes me feel really sick. The most effective thing for me at the moment is Osteopathy. I really love the gentle touch, find it very relaxing and it changed a lot in my life Take care and enjoy your week-end

Hi Turmalin. You are more than welcome to 'jump in' ! The more the merrier. I am intrigued by your expereince of gentle Osteopathy. My experience was quite hard and manipulative. Did you mean Cranial Osteopathy? It's interesting that you feel sick after Reflexology. In Amatsu terms I would want to have a look at your pancreas/spleen and stomach. I'm really pleased that you have found something to help you - I genuinely believe that ther is a therapy for everyone. Just a shame that we have to pay! Though the Amatsu Therapy Association is looking to inclusion in the health insurance schemes. Keep well and take care. xx

Hi Turmalin, Interesting. As a cat and dog owner I love the idea of Reiki on animals. I have to say that my dog Sam loves a head massage and my cat Spooky will take all the attention he can get, but I've never thought of trying "proper" massage techniques on them. Karen - I hope they do allow insurance to cover the costs of Amatsu. I think it would have been such a help to me after my accident, if only I'd known about it then.

It's fascinating, this treatment of animals. My husband has always been a dog owner and, having done a first level Reiki course, wishes he had done it while he owned his red setter. This dog was a mess! I would have been exteremely interested to see him work with her. He works with my cat and you have to watch it to beleive it! The cat will lie on him, completely still, completely relaxed, completely chilled. Not unusual you may think until you know the cat's background! He adopted us at the age of about 4. He was a real nervous wreck, bolting at the slightest noise, hiding at the slightest movement. And now,... he loves to just lie there! However, as soon as he has had enough, he just gets of and walks away!! How does he know when he needs some Reiki? How does he know when he's had enough? Don't you think it's fascinating? No-one tells him when he needs a treatment. No-one tells him when he's had enough. He knows. He knows his body and what it needs. Which is what we, as human beings, have forgotten or don't listen to. what do you think? xx |

I discovered a while ago that Tamiflu was manufactured using Star Anise. The active constituent is shikimic acid, but the manufacture it artificially now.

That's what makes me really angry. I really believe that somewhere nature has a cure for all our ills.
