A lifetime! But the Amatsu Therapy Association approved courses are two years covering Anma and Seitai and a further year covering
Shinden. There is then a further year for Kenku. |

That does seem a long time. Is ít full or part-time?

The actual teaching is part-time. The homework and reading is.... well certainly at exam time it's full time!! I did it while teaching full time and I found it pretty tough. Most of those in my group were working too. I think the hardest thing was not having a science background. The anatomy and physiology was hard for me - GCSE biology about 30 years ago! However I really recommend it and am very glad that I made the move. It is one of those things that you are always learning about, so it's always interesting. I think it's great that interest in all things complementary is increasing and people are becoming more open minded. xx |

What surprises me is that even some medical practitioners are becoming converts.

Good question. Maybe we should set up a directory of open minded NHS GPs.

Not at this moment. But there is a leaflet giving guidance for GPs who want to refer a patient. http://www.lmc.org.uk/guidance/referralcomptherapistsmarch06.doc |

How do you find all these fascinating things?! I put in stuff and get laods of waffle! I didn't know that this has been possible since 1990! Although registration comes with it's own problems, the Amatsu Therapy Association has it's own processes and policies with a view to any future legislation. I know wheels are in motion for a full clinical trial which will be very interesting. xx

Well when it's published let me know. As for how I find things, I've written a guide to using Google here. I wrote it for English learners, but it's valid for anyone searching for information.

I t certainly does! Isn't it a shame it's such hard work Particularly when you're not 'au fait' with computer technology. I know they are supposed to be 'logical', but I find a lot just assumes you have done a masters in IT. Really some of these cmpanies/software people need to talk to people like me - who don't have any knid of IT background. I have never read a manual that explains what they are trying to teach in really basic language! I know this is nothing to do with herbal/ complementary stuff, but it's still relevant. an alternative lifestyle?! xx |
